Dedication and Commitment

As you consider registering for our cheer program, we want to make sure families understand the level of commitment involved so our athletes can have a positive, successful season from start to finish.

Choosing between our Sideline and Competitive squads is an exciting decision, and we encourage families to think carefully about which option best fits their schedules. Both programs require dedication—not just from our cheerleaders, but from parents as well.

Our season begins with practices in late July and continues through late October or early November. As members of the United Youth Football League (UYFL), our home games are held on Saturdays, with away games at local school districts such as Pine Richland, Mars, North Allegheny, etc. Because football is an all‑weather sport, cheerleaders are expected to participate fully in each game unless it is officially canceled.

SV Youth football has a proud tradition of excellence, and our season includes playoffs and the Super Bowl. All cheerleaders are expected to remain committed through the entire season.

For families involved in multiple sports—such as All‑Star cheer, competitive dance, or club sports—please note that attendance requirements for both Sideline Cheer and Competitive squads are mandatory. If managing multiple schedules may be difficult, we ask that you consider this carefully before registering, as consistent participation is essential for your child and their team.

By registering, you are confirming your family’s commitment to making SVYFAC a priority throughout the season. We’re excited to welcome you into our community and look forward to an amazing year of cheer and football.
